So Fiona Apple...

I'm not sure I'm willing to endorse her as a concept, but I definitely like some of her songs. This is a particular favorite. On the flip side she just doesn't really seem to be someone you'd want to hang around with. There's an aura of self-indulgence to naming your album:

And also I'm just not sure she's a shiny happy person.

As a child of the MTV generation I'm a little mystified by why I seem completely incapable of discerning the story in videos. Like...what in the world is this video about? Should I as someone who'd known MTV for almost all its life be better at this skill...oh well...
