Today I think Ride The Lightning was Metallica's best album, tomorrow I will be back to Master of Puppets. What is clear is that those are the two valid options. I'd also like to share the gist of a conversation I just had with a friend:

[him] it depends on your definition of when Metallica Sold out. [me] it goes like this:

  • Kill 'Em All -> Pretty Good
  • Master & Ride The Lightning ->Masterpieces
  • Justice -> Not Bad
  • Black Album -> Hrm...what is this? I guess it's okay...It's got some good songs.
  • Everything After -> Uhm...what just happened?
  • Napster Thing -> Wow those guys are complete dicks.

Everything pretty much went to hell after Burton died. It just goes to prove my old theory: In any band the guy you want to hang out with is probably the bassist.
